2014/09 - Climate change

Ideas for reducing our personal carbon footprint:
  • Turn down heating - saves money as well
  • Use a steamer pan (or a colander over a pan)
  • Turn lights off when you leave a room
  • Putting insulating plastic film over single-glazed windows (if double-glazing is not possible)
  • Putting energy reflectors behind radiators
Why reduce our personal carbon footprint (small changes won't make a much of a difference)? It gives more legitimacy when campaigning for bigger changes.

Transition network - hope to be large enough to make a difference, but quick enough to be 'in time' (unlike governments)
Carbon conversations - one way of having a discussion about our own carbon footprint
Laura's larder - allows you to calculate the carbon footprint of your daily meals
